WPC Trek Rules 2013
Waitara Pony Club Trek RULES:
1. All members from Necia’s and Mandy’s groups must have a parent with them for the duration of the trek.
2. In addition to point 1 above, there must be one (1) parent per five (5) riders aged 14 years and under.
3. Your shirt and pony club jersey are not compulsory, however you must have sleeves of some sort i.e. t-shirts may be worn, but no singlets.
4. All other items of your uniform are compulsory – i.e. regulation helmet, correct footwear etc …..
5. The pace will be walking only unless advised otherwise by the lead rider.
6. If you have a pony which may likely upset other ponies in a trekking environment, please let Ange Turner know when you RSVP -safety must be considered at all times.
Other
1. People without transport will need to organise this themselves. Please contact someone from your group or a friend; not your head instructor or group instructor.
2. All adults and instructors are welcome to ride (remember we need 1 adult per 5 children to conduct this trek), however this is a day where the members are priority so safety and caution must be exercised at all times. Please do not bring un-experienced horses that may upset members’ ponies with bad behaviour.
3. Members may be split into two groups depending on rider ability/numbers
4. A plate and drink for a shared BBQ lunch must be brought. Non riding parents will be asked to transport the lunches to the lunch venue. Note access to the lunch venue is by 4 wheel drive vehicles only.
5. Ensure you bring sun block and your togs as well – there is a really nice swimming hole at the lunch venue.
6. Please arrive at 9.30am so riders can be ready at 10.00am. We will then commence our trek.
7. The trek will follow tracking across farm land. After lunch, riders with C certificate (and other riders at individual permission from the head instructor), may take an alternate, more difficult route home. TBC.
